About SPIOP

We are thrilled to have you as a part of our community. SPIOP was conceived by a group of first-year I/O students attending the "Professional Issues in Psychology" class during Fall Quarter 1992. Credit for the creation of also belongs to Silvia Swigert, and outstanding MS I/O student of 1992-1993 who conceived and developed the original structure of SPIOP. These students were inspired by the message that better communication practices can increase the understanding and acceptance of I/O Psychology in the community it serves.

SPIOP became a CSUSB chartered student association in December 1992. It assists in connecting I/O students to the community by establishing relationships with CSUSB I/O alumni, regional business organizations, and CSUSB business and psychology student organizations.
